Ch. 5: The Shadow Organization

The underground laboratory fell silent.

Aryan held the old radio tightly while the mysterious man stood calmly before him.

“My name is Victor,” the man said. “I represent Eclipse. We don't want to hurt you. We only want the receiver.”

Aryan frowned.

“If that's true, why have your people been chasing us?”

Victor smiled.

“Because you don‘t understand what you’re holding.”

He pointed toward the radio.

“That device isn‘t just receiving signals from the future. It’s connected to something much bigger.”

“The Time Network.”

Meera looked confused.

“What is the Time Network?”

Victor walked to an old projector and switched it on.

A holographic map of the world appeared, covered with glowing blue lines connecting different locations.

“Forty years ago,” Victor explained, “Project Echo accidentally created a bridge through time. Information could travel between the past and the future.”

“We believed we could prevent disasters, save lives, and improve humanity.”

Aryan crossed his arms.

“So why was the project abandoned?”

Victor's expression became serious.

“Because someone changed history.”

He pressed another button.

The map changed.

Cities disappeared and reappeared. Dates shifted. Entire events were replaced by different ones.

“Every time someone changes one event,” Victor said, “thousands of other events change with it.”

Meera whispered, “So the future isn't fixed.”

Victor nodded.

“No. It's constantly changing.”

He looked directly at Aryan.

“And your future self has already changed it once.”

Aryan froze.

“My… Future self?”

Victor handed him an old photograph.

It showed the Project Echo laboratory many years in the future.

Standing beside the scientists was a man who looked exactly like Aryan, only older and with a scar across his face.

On the back of the photograph were the words:

“Project Echo – Year 2042.”

“This isn't possible,” Aryan whispered.

Before Victor could reply, the old radio suddenly switched on.

Static filled the room.

Then the familiar voice returned.

“Aryan… Don‘t trust Eclipse. They’re hiding the truth. Find the Core before it's too late.”

The laboratory lights began flashing rapidly.

Suddenly, a loud explosion shook the building.

Emergency alarms echoed through every corridor.

Victor looked toward the exit.

“They found us.”

Masked soldiers rushed into the laboratory carrying advanced weapons.

One of them shouted,

“Secure the receiver! Nobody leaves alive!”

Victor turned toward Aryan.

“If you want to survive, follow me!”

Aryan looked at Meera.

Neither of them knew who they could trust anymore.

With danger closing in from every direction, they had only one choice.

Run.
