An African folk tale from the Ashanti of Ghana, retold: long ago every story in the world belonged to Nyankonpon, the Sky God, and no one on earth had ever heard one. Small, fast-talking Kwaku Ananse the spider climbs up to buy them, and is told the price: the python, the hornets, the leopard and the fairy Mmoatia. With his clever wife Aso beside him, he sets out to pay it, one trick at a time.
