The hidden temple of Karnasuvarna

With the weight of their recent victory still lingering in their hearts, Aditya, Pranav, Padma, and Rahul turned their focus to the next step of their journey—the hidden temple of Maa Kali in Murshidabad. However, their first hurdle emerged as they searched through ancient manuscripts, poring over pages in search of any reference to the temple’s location.

Aditya’s brow furrowed in frustration as he flipped through the fragile pages of an old manuscript. “It’s like searching for a needle in a haystack. These manuscripts are so cryptic.”

Pranav’s lightning danced in agreement, his fingers tracing lines of text that seemed to hold hidden clues. “We need some sort of direction. A hint about where to start.”

Their search yielded no tangible results, leaving them with more questions than answers. It was then that they decided to seek guidance from an old ally—the temple priest in Kalighat.

Arriving at the revered temple, Aditya stepped forward with respect in his voice. “We seek your guidance once more, venerable priest. Our journey continues, and we seek the hidden temple of Maa Kali.”

The priest’s eyes held a mixture of reverence and wariness. “The path you tread is not one meant for all to find. The temple’s location has been carefully guarded for centuries.”

Padma’s ethereal presence shimmered as she spoke, her voice gentle yet persistent. “We understand the significance of what we ask. But our purpose is one of unity, restoration, and balance.”

The priest’s gaze lingered on them, assessing their determination. “Very well. Seek the knowledge you seek in the Kolkata National Library.”

Following the priest’s advice, the group ventured to the Kolkata National Library. As they scanned through dusty tomes and ancient scrolls, they stumbled upon a section of books that appeared forbidden, cordoned off from public access. It was as if these volumes held secrets that were not meant to be revealed.

Pranav’s lightning flickered in the dim light of the library. “There’s something about these books. They seem to be deliberately hidden away.”

Aditya’s gaze narrowed as he glanced at the forbidden section. “Perhaps the answers we seek are buried within those pages.”

With determination in their hearts, the group decided to take a risk. They returned to the library after nightfall, when the building was abandoned and the forbidden section lay untouched. Padma’s ethereal form glided through the air, her spiritual senses attuned to the presence of otherworldly guidance.

As she whispered softly to the unseen, Padma listened to the spirits that lingered within the library’s walls. Their voices carried a melody of forgotten knowledge, their guidance leading her to a particular book on the top shelf.

Padma’s ethereal energy extended, her fingers grazing the spine of the book. “This is it. The answers we’ve been seeking may lie within.”

With a gentle pull, the book came free from its place, revealing its title—’Karnasuvarna: The Hidden Secrets of Murshidabad.’ Aditya’s eyes widened in realization.

“Karnasuvarna,” he murmured. “That’s the old name of Murshidabad. No wonder we couldn’t find any references under the modern name.”

As they delved into the pages of the book, their quest unveiled a map, a diagram detailing the location of the hidden temple they sought. Their journey would take them to Karnasuvarna, a place steeped in history and mystery.

With the book in hand and the map etched into their minds, the heroes shared a knowing glance. Their journey was far from over; the path ahead would lead them to the heart of ancient secrets and unparalleled unity.

Aditya’s voice carried a sense of purpose as he addressed his companions. “Our path is clear. To Karnasuvarna we go, to uncover the mysteries that lie hidden and restore the balance we seek.”

With their resolve unshaken and the weight of history behind them, Aditya, Pranav, Padma, and Rahul set forth on their journey once more. The hidden temple of Maa Kali awaited, a place that held the promise of enlightenment and the unity they had fought so hard to achieve.

With the weight of their journey guiding them, Aditya and Rahul reached the entrance of the hidden temple near Hazar Duari. The cave’s mouth yawned open before them, its depths shrouded in an air of mystery. Padma, sensing something amiss, held back, her ethereal form hovering near the entrance.

Padma’s voice echoed with concern. “I sense a presence inside—something ancient and formidable. I must remain here.”

Aditya’s gaze met Padma’s, a silent exchange of understanding passing between them. “We’ll be careful. Stay safe.”

The two entered the cave, their steps echoing through the dimly lit passageways. As they ventured deeper, the air grew heavy with anticipation. Suddenly, they were confronted by a group of humanoid serpents, their eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and hostility.

Aditya’s voice carried a steely determination. “We seek the hidden temple. Let us pass.”

The serpents hissed in response, their forms coiling as if ready to strike. But then, one serpent stepped forward—a figure with a regal air and a gaze that held a hint of recognition.

“Narakasura,” the serpent addressed Aditya, its voice a sibilant whisper. “You have returned.”

Aditya’s eyes widened at the mention of his past life’s name. “You know me?”

The serpent’s hiss transformed into a wry chuckle. “You were once known as Narakasura—the great demon lord. I am Vasuki, one of the serpentine guardians of this temple. If you seek the knowledge you seek, you must prove your worth.”

Rahul’s voice carried a mixture of determination and curiosity. “Prove our worth? How?”

Vasuki’s gaze fell on Aditya. “A duel—a test of your strength. Defeat me, and I shall grant you the knowledge you seek.”

Without further hesitation, the battle began. Vasuki’s serpent-like movements were swift and unpredictable, his attacks laced with venomous intent. Aditya’s fiery magic blazed to life, countering Vasuki’s attacks with precision and skill. The cave echoed with the clash of magic and might, the battle a testament to the strength of unity and the pursuit of balance.

As the fight raged on, Aditya’s magic began to dwindle, his power waning with each incantation. Yet, he fought on, driven by a relentless determination to succeed. With a final surge of magic, he unleashed a spell he had yet to use—an attack named Flaming Meteor.

The meteor blazed through the air, crashing into Vasuki with an explosive impact. The serpent’s hiss of pain echoed through the cave as his form began to disintegrate, his presence fading into the air.

As Vasuki’s form dissipated, his voice lingered, carrying his final words to Aditya’s ears. “You have proven your strength, Narakasura. Listen well—within Kalighat lie the four nidhis. Retrieve them, and a wish shall be granted—one that can restore your magic.”

Rahul’s eyes widened with realization. “Nidhis? What are they?”

Vasuki’s voice held a final, cryptic note. “Four treasures of immense power, scattered across Ayodhya, Mathura, Hampi, and Bali. Find them, and the path to restoring your magic shall be unveiled.”

With Vasuki’s words hanging in the air, the cave fell into silence, the echoes of their battle fading into the shadows. Aditya’s gaze turned to Rahul, his voice resolute.

“We have a new quest ahead of us—a journey to retrieve these nidhis. It seems our path is far from over.”

With a shared understanding, Aditya and Rahul left the cave, Padma’s ethereal form waiting for them at the entrance. The unity that had carried them thus far remained unbroken, and with Vasuki’s guidance, they now embarked on a new chapter of their extraordinary journey—one that held the promise of magic restored, balance achieved, and the unity they had fought for realized.
