Chapter 32: Chapter 32 — The Human Heart
Heaven’s Eternal Gate
By AuthorThe ten Flying Yakshas — once terrifying demonic generals — now lay bound in the sand, black blood soaking the ground.
Though unconscious, their breathing remained heavy and their life force still surged with terrifying vitality.
“We can’t swallow this treasure,”
Fang Han said at once.
A treasure artifact was no small matter.
Even for the colossal Yuhua Sect, the loss of such an object would trigger a full investigation.
With the sect’s power, nothing under heaven could escape their scrutiny.
Princess Hongyi nodded.
“The Heavenly Rooster Pure-Yang Rope was forged by the Grand Elder Zhiyang Zhenren and bestowed upon Hua Tiandu, the number-one True Disciple of Heavenly Capital Peak — the future hope of Yuhua.
Senior Sister Mo must have borrowed it from him.”
Heavenly Capital Peak stood at the top of Yuhua’s hierarchy.
In comparison, Fang Qingxue’s Purple Lightning Peak ranked near the bottom.
“But…”
she continued softly, “Senior Sister Fang is no ordinary person.
She exchanged cultivation methods with the Son of the Innate Demon Emperor, Ying Tianqing.
Her progress is terrifying. Her future limitless.
If we hand the rope to her, she will know how to handle this.”
Fang Han understood the meaning beneath her words.
“And we can’t leave it here either,”
Hongyi added.
“If we detox Senior Sister Mo, she’ll ask how.
Then she’ll ask where the swords went.
Then how Crimson Prince died.
What answer do we give?”
Fang Han frowned.
“And Liu Kang? Do we save him?”
Hongyi hesitated.
“Liu Kang courts you only for leverage.
Unlike us — we saved each other’s lives.
If he learns we took the swords and the treasure rope, he will spread the word.
More importantly, Yuan Jiankong escaped. He will send word to the True Disciples.”
“Still… He’s an ally for now,”
Fang Han sighed. “We should save him.”
He cut his wrist, fed Liu Kang his blood, and activated a Water Talisman.
Moments later, Liu Kang convulsed, expelled foul vapor, and sprang awake.
Shock crossed his eyes as he saw the battlefield.
“You resisted Six-Desires Yin Thunder… Fang Han, your blood cured it?
What pill did you take — Yin-Yang Longevity?”
Fang Han avoided the question and explained the situation.
Seven flying swords.
Crimson Prince’s armor.
All in his possession.
Liu Kang’s breath grew heavy.
“Fang Han… Could you give me the Silver Serpent Sword and the Blood-Cotton Demon Robe?
You already have a Spirit Wind Sword and a treasure capable of capturing swords.
Too many artifacts hinder control.”
Fang Han’s gaze hardened.
“Liu Kang,”
Hongyi said coldly, “this is excessive.”
“If we hand them to the sect,”
Liu Kang smiled, “we get nothing.
True Disciples will take everything.”
Inside, his thoughts raged:
This fortune is heaven-sent. I must seize it now or never. Fang Han already has leverage. This is my only chance.
Fang Han’s voice was calm.
“Liu Kang… You contributed nothing.”
“I will not expose you,”
Liu Kang replied.
That was when the sword flashed.
Hongyi’s blade severed his throat.
Blood sprayed across the sand.
Liu Kang collapsed, twitching like a slaughtered chicken.
“You—”
The word died with him.
Hongyi sheathed her sword and sighed.
“I told you.
The human heart is the most dangerous beast of all.”
